JoyofRoy was born from a profound inspiration—the unwavering dedication of my parents, Late Shri Birendra Kumar Roy and Late Smt. Sampurna Roy, who, despite belonging to a middle-class family, lived a life devoted to helping relatives and those less fortunate. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand their selfless acts of kindness, offering support and guidance to anyone in need. Their legacy of compassion instilled in me a deep-seated belief in the power of giving back.

I vividly remember my mother spending countless hours knitting woolen sweaters for family members and complete strangers alike. She took immense pride in her sewing, finding joy in creating something beautiful and functional and giving it away completely free of charge. That act of selfless creativity, of transforming simple wool into a tangible expression of love, deeply impacted me. It taught me the power of skill and the joy of giving.

Their example stayed with me as I embarked on my own journey, living and working in the United States for Fortune 100 companies. Even amidst the demands of a corporate career, I actively sought opportunities to serve my community, mentoring countless students and volunteering my time to uplift those around me.

Traveling to over 25 countries further opened my eyes to the stark inequalities that persist in our world. I witnessed firsthand the vast gap between the privileged and the underserved, the deprivation of necessities like education, and the lack of opportunities for individuals to rise above their circumstances. These experiences solidified my conviction that we all have a moral responsibility to address these injustices and empower those who are struggling.

Inspired by my parents' legacy and driven by a desire to create lasting change, I founded JoyofRoy to bridge the gap and provide access to quality, affordable education for women, men, and youth in underserved communities. We believe that with the right skills and knowledge, individuals can unlock their potential, break the cycle of poverty, and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.

As Richard Branson said, "If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you're not sure you can do it, say yes – then learn how to do it later!" We aim to provide those amazing opportunities that propel people towards their dreams.
